    nothing was good

The area was bad and the window did not lock. I did not feel safe in the room, and I scared to leave my belonging in the room. When I told the staff that I did not feel safe and that I wanted to check out and go home, I was charged full price for that night and 15% for the charge for the next night. I do not feel, if the environment is unsafe and there are drug dealers hanging half a bolck from the hotel that you should be forced to pay a portion of the next night also.

  • Single

I did not like a thing. I arrived at midnight and left the hotel next day although I was booked for 5 nights. the room and the bathroom were dirty and in terrible state. Facilities nil. I strongly suggest that you remove this hotel from you site

    The location

Cleanliness very poor, bathroom faucets are broken , no toilet seat, windows are rusted etc.... etc...

  • Older travelers

I have always been described as an "honest and frank" person. So here it goes: I was afraid to stay here after reading all of the negative reviews but it wasn't as bad as most of them say. It is located walking distance to Bourban street (15 minute walk) and the French Quarter. If I were a drunk, alone, or in a group, I would not recommend walking there late at night, I would take a cab to Bourban Street and pay about 5.00 (thats what we did). The area is not well lit. The hotel itself is not a gem but it is affordable. The staff was very friendly, Mike and Jen, gave us recommendations for great restaurants in the area and even called the cabs for us. The room itself is small but all we needed is a bed and bathroom, when it comes to saving money, we are not that picky. The room was clean, air conditioned, contained a bed and bathroom and a small nightstand. We don't spend our time in the room, we just needed a place to sleep. I woke up at about 3 in the morning, turned on the lights in the bathroom, no bugs or anything like that. The plumbing worked fine. We didn't need a closet (no closets) because we backpacked. Over all, its not as bad as the reivews make it sound. Once you are in the French Quarter, you will be happy, you will be around all the restaurants, night life, and markets. Would we stay there again? If we were on a budget, yes. If you are not on a budget, I would highly recommend the Garden District, very upscale and you can take a street car to the French Quarter for 1.25. We stayed in the Garden District our 2nd night so that we could get a feeling for this part of town, and loved it.

  • Older travelers

It is really close tothe french quarter. However, it was kinda scary in the area

It is a durty slam! I understand the cost is low, but there are things things that you just cant sell. You cannot sell a dirty room with rouches and broken focets and some resemblence of a bed. You just cant charge for such things.

  • Couple

The location was pretty handy, quite near to Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. The cleaning staff work hard.

We did not have an enjoyable stay at this hotel. We chose it mainly for price & location but in all honesty wish we had listened to reviews and paid a bit more. Although the staff were friendly, some of the other hotel guests were not and in all honesty I didn't feel very safe here. You have to leave a $10 for your room key and drop it off before you go out each night, which I did not want to do. There is a balcony but we were bothered a few times by other guests who appeared to be on drugs and it makde me feel uncomfortable. Its a shame as the staff are nice but the rooms are tiny with tiny windows and tiny tv's and compared to even some of the cheap motels we stayed at on our 3 week road trip this was the worst.

  • Group of friends

Bathroom- water back-up whilst having a shower, Bed - was uncomfortable, TV did not work and room had an awful smell that inflamed my sinuses. Opening the door needed body builder strenght as the hinges were so tight you could have easily been injured.

  • Couple

Good location, close to French Quarter, lowest price I could find for the weekend. Shower was hot. AC was good. It served its purpose (a place to crash after long nights of partying).

Bed was pretty uncomfortable. Would recommend bringing your own pillows as theirs have plastic covers on them. Best if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room.

The only good thing was that it was close to Bourbon street.

I highly recommend not staying here. The neighborhood it's in looked very sketchy, and a friend of mine said he almost got jumped in that area a few years ago. I had no idea about it, and the facility is just as bad as the its surrounding area. I don't understand why it's called a hotel. My room was like a prison cell, and everything in the building looked like it was falling apart.

Hotel staff were attentive and security conscious

Room quality was horrible. This is a cross between a crack house and Section 8 housing. Disgusting

  • Single

I enjoyed the location and helpful staff. The room was quiet and generally clean.

I disliked the plastic covered pillows and lumpy mattress which sagged in the middle.

  • Single

It is a basic but fine hotel, the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the location was good. What more could I want for this price?

  • Single

The other guests that I met on the patio.

  • Single

you stay here for the price and the location. It is less than a 5 min walk to bourbon street and they have free parking.

It is a star hotel (maybe half a star) but remember you get what you pay for. I got this hotel because all I needed was a place to sleep after partying. You will not hang out at this hotel.

  • Group of friends

It was very laid back, the room was a good for the price, and for what we needed it for, which was a bed, and somewhere to leave our things.

Our showerhead did not work well, that is the only thing.
